| Space Continues to Display Fundraising Strength (4/15/2008) |
| Congressman Zack Space's campaign continued its strong 2008 fundraising, bringing its fundraising totals to over $1.4 million since the campaign began. For the quarter, Space's campaign raised over $360,088. The campaign enters the second quarter with just under $1 million in cash on hand. "I'm extraordinarily thankful for the support I've received," said Congressman Space. "Our effort to listen and respond to the needs of the people of 18th's Congressional District continues to resonate." "We have a long way to go in what is going to be a very tough race, but having nearly one million in the bank puts our campaign in a good position." Contributors to Space's campaign represent a growing number of low-dollar donors, representing an extensive breadth of support. Sixty-four percent of this quarter's contributions were less than $250, and the majority of first quarter contributions were smaller than $100. To continue its focus on low dollar donations, the campaign launched its "I Back Zack" effort in early 2008, encouraging donors to give $8/month. The I Back Zack campaign will be a continued focus throughout the rest of the campaign. "I came to Congress to help make sure that everyone was a part of the process, and I vow to continue doing everything in my power to continue that effort," said Space. ### |
